Queensbury - On top of the moor

Our customer had recently purchased this retirement bungalow and wanted an energy efficient home without the worry of spiralling energy bills. Our customer used some of our team members to install underfloor heating throughout and took advantage of the Governments’ Boiler Upgrade Scheme £7500 voucher in removing the 20 year old Gas Boiler and replacing it with a solar powered air source heat pump and hot water system. Energy from the Grid would supplement charging the batteries at off peak rates during winter months.

Sixteen 450w panels were fitted on the south facing roof split up onto two strings feeding a Sunsynk 5kwh inverter. Sunsynks are designed to be overrate against the amount of solar produced under STC (standard test conditions).

A Samsung Air Source Heat pump was fitted to provide heat to the Homely underfloor heating system and hot water to a seperate cylinder.

A Sunsynk 5.5kWh battery charges up during the day and provides power to the Air Source Heat Pump during the night.
